Ordinance For The Removal Of Dog Waste
TOWN OF EAST WINDSOR

The following ordinance was adopted at a Special Town Meeting duly warned and held on September 24, 1998.  Said ordinance shall become effective fifteen (15) days from the publication thereof.


AN ORDINANCE FOR THE REMOVAL OF DOG WASTE

1.      It shall be unlawful for any person owning, keeping, walking, in possession, custody or control of any dog to allow or permit such dog to defecate upon any public or private property unless such person shall remove all feces deposited by such dog before leaving such property.

2.      The provisions of this section shall not apply to a guide dog accompanying any blind person.

3.      Any violation of this section shall constitute an infraction and shall be punishable by a fine of fifty dollars ($50.00)

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:           To promote the public health, safety and welfare by requiring any person owning, keeping, walking, in possession, custody or control of any dog to remove all feces deposited by such dog from public or private property
