AN ORDINANCE CREATING A DEVELOPMENT AND INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION
The Town of East Windsor in Special Town Meeting convened hereby ordains and enacts:
1. The Town of East Windsor accepts the provisions of Section 7-136 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Revision of 1958.
2. A Development and Industrial Commission is established for the promotion and development of the business and industrial resources of the Town, and for such other purposes as may be authorized by said Section 7-136 or otherwise provided by law.
3. Within thirty (30) days after the effective date of the Ordinance, the chief executive authority of the Town shall appoint seven (7) members of said Commission to serve until October 1, 1965. Beginning October 1, 1965 the chief executive authority shall appoint two (2) members to serve for a term of one (1) year from October 1, 1965, two (2) members to serve for a term of two (2) years from October 1, 19654, one (1) member to serve for a term of three (3) years from October 1, 1965, one (1) member to serve for a term of four (4) years from October 1, 1965, and one (1) member to serve for a term of five (5) years from October 1, 1965, and thereafter each member
shall be appointed for a term of five (5) years. Said chief executive authority shall designate the chairman of said Commission. Vacancies in the membership of the Commission shall be filled in the manner provided by law. All members appointed pursuant hereto shall serve until their successors are duly appointed and qualified.
Any act or ordinance of the Town inconsistent herewith is hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall become effective fifteen (15) days after publication thereof in a newspaper having a circulation in the Town of East Windsor.
